Privacy Policy

Fix2Me LLC · Atlanta, Georgia
Last updated: August 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Fix2Me LLC ("Fix2Me," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information about you when you use the Fix2Me platform, including our website (fix2me.app) and mobile application (the "Platform").

By creating an account, joining our waitlist, or using any part of the Fix2Me Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to:

Where this Policy applies differently to Customers and Technicians, we say so clearly.

1.1 Notice at Collection

At or before the point where Fix2Me collects anything from you, we tell you what categories we are collecting (Section 2, with sensitive categories marked), why (Section 3), how long we keep each one (Section 5, as specific periods, not "as long as necessary"), whether we sell or share it (we do not, and never have), and where to read this full policy (a link, at the point of collection).

On the website, this notice appears at sign-up and on any form that collects new categories. In the mobile app, a link to this policy lives permanently in the settings menu, not only in the sign-up flow.

2. SMS / Text Messaging Program

Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared. Fix2Me does not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or any other purpose. This applies to all categories of text messaging.

When you provide your mobile number and opt in, Fix2Me sends account and identity-verification text messages, primarily one-time passcodes (OTPs), to verify your identity when you register, log in, add a new device, or reset your password. You opt in during account registration on the Fix2Me app or website by entering your mobile number and agreeing to receive these messages; a message is sent only when you take an action that requires verification.

Separately, and only if you expressly opt in, we may send promotional messages about new features and offers (Section 3.5). You can withdraw marketing consent at any time in your account preferences or by replying STOP to any marketing message, without affecting your verification texts.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Give Us

Waitlist visitors provide: name, email address, ZIP code, and (for technicians) selected skill categories.

Customers provide: full name, email address, phone number, home and service addresses, profile photo (optional), payment information (processed by Stripe — Fix2Me does not store full card details), service request descriptions and device information provided during Fixie interactions, messages sent through the in-app messaging system, and reviews and ratings submitted after job completion.

Technicians provide: full legal name, date of birth (sensitive), home address, email address, phone number, government-issued ID number (sensitive), Social Security Number, collected for IRS W-9 compliance and identity verification (sensitive), bank account details (processed via Stripe Connect — Fix2Me does not store raw bank account numbers), skills, service categories and service area, license and certification documents for regulated categories, profile photo, and GPS location data during active jobs.

Sensitive personal information. The three items marked sensitive above are treated as a distinct, higher-protection category, matching how California's privacy law classifies Social Security, driver's licence, state ID and passport numbers.

We collect them for two purposes only: verifying you are who you say you are, and meeting tax-reporting obligations. We do not use them to build a profile of you, do not use them for advertising, and never sell or share them. They are stored encrypted, and Fix2Me never stores images of your ID document. Your Social Security number is held under a separate encryption key from the rest of your information: when you delete your account we destroy the key protecting everything else straight away, and the key protecting the tax record is destroyed when the retention period in Section 5 ends.

3.2 Information Generated Through Your Use of the Platform

Booking history (service type, date, location, status, price, outcome); payment and transaction history; Fixie conversation transcripts; Fixie requirements checklists; intake photos; job state-machine events; proximity and PIN verification records; GPS trajectory data during travel to a service address; in-app messages; reviews, ratings and appeals; dispute records; device information (model, OS, app version, device fingerprint); IP address and approximate location at login and registration; and push-notification interaction data.

3.3 Information from Third Parties

4. How We Use Your Information

4.1 To Operate the Platform

Creating and managing your account; matching Customers with Technicians by location, skills and availability; running Fixie to generate quotes and requirements; processing payments and payouts; proximity and PIN verification; storing intake photos as evidence of device condition; managing the 72-hour Satisfaction Guarantee window and disputes; and sending transactional communications (booking confirmations, status updates, PIN delivery, dispute notices, security alerts).

4.2 To Maintain Safety and Trust

Verifying Technician identities, ages and credentials; conducting background checks on physical-service Technicians; monitoring in-app messages for off-platform solicitation using NLP scanning; detecting fraudulent accounts, fake reviews and abusive rating patterns; maintaining GPS trajectory records to detect spoofing and verify arrival; and maintaining ban records to prevent re-registration by permanently banned users.

4.3 To Improve the Platform

Analyzing Fixie's price accuracy; monitoring platform-health metrics; reviewing flagged messages and suspicious patterns; and using aggregated, de-identified data to improve matching, routing and Fixie. Transcripts used to improve Fixie are stripped of identifying details at the moment they are captured, not later.

4.4 For Legal and Compliance Purposes

Issuing IRS Form 1099 to qualifying Technicians; collecting and storing W-9 information; responding to lawful requests from law enforcement, courts or government authorities; maintaining records required by law including payment records for IRS purposes; and cooperating with law-enforcement investigations of suspected criminal conduct.

4.5 For Marketing (With Your Consent)

Sending promotional SMS, email and push notifications about new features, service-area expansions and offers, only to users who have opted in to marketing. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time in your account preferences or by replying STOP to any marketing SMS.

5. How We Share Your Information

Fix2Me does not sell or share your personal information. We have never done so, we do not do so now, and we receive no money or other value for any disclosure described in this policy. If that ever changes, this policy changes first and you will be told before it takes effect. We do not allow advertisers to pay to have Fix2Me promote things in our platform or communications.

5.1 Between Customers and Technicians

When a booking is confirmed, limited information is shared to facilitate the service. Technicians see a Customer's first name, the service address (revealed only after acceptance, hidden again after completion), the device or issue description, Fixie's diagnosis brief, and in-app messages. Technicians never see a Customer's last name, full phone number, email, payment information, or account history. Customers see a Technician's first name, profile photo, trust or "New to Fix2Me" badge, rating average and completed-job count, active service tags, distance and estimated arrival. Customers never see a Technician's last name, phone or email, home address, SSN or identity documents, license numbers, bank information, or internal metrics.

5.2 Service Providers and Contractors

The companies below are our service providers and contractors. Each is bound by contract to use your information only to perform the specific job we hired them for, and is forbidden from using it for their own purposes, keeping it beyond the engagement, or passing it on. Handing information to a service provider under those terms is not a sale and not a share.

Mobile information exception. No mobile information (your phone number or SMS opt-in) is shared with any third party or affiliate for their marketing. Text-messaging originator opt-in data is not shared with any third parties except the messaging providers (such as Twilio) strictly to deliver the messages you requested.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information in response to a valid court order, subpoena or government request; to comply with law; to protect the rights, property or safety of Fix2Me, our users or the public; in connection with investigations of suspected fraud, illegal activity or Terms violations; and where a Technician is suspected of criminal conduct toward a Customer, in which case we cooperate fully with law enforcement.

5.4 Business Transfers

If Fix2Me LLC is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email and in-app before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5.5 With Your Consent

We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

6. Data Retention

Each period below is stated as a specific length of time and applies as written. We have deliberately avoided "as long as necessary" anywhere in this policy.

Data typeHow long we keep it
Name, email, phone, address, profile photoUntil you delete your account, then destroyed
Login credentials, sessions, registered devicesUntil you delete your account, then destroyed
Payment/payout records, tax forms (incl. 1099s)7 years from the transaction date (kept even after account deletion)

Intake photos5 years from completion
In-app messages2 years, personal data removed at deletion

Marketing consent recordsDuration of consent + 3 years

7. Account Deletion and Data Rights

7.1 How to Delete Your Account

Email support@fix2me.app with the subject line "Delete My Account." We verify the request is really from you before acting, which is why deletion runs through support rather than a button. When you delete, we destroy the encryption key that protects your personal data: your name, email, phone, address, profile photo and saved payment details become permanently unreadable, by you or by us.

What we keep, and why. Payment, payout and tax records for 7 years (tax law requires it); bookings and job history with your personal data removed, for the periods in Section 6; ratings you wrote, with your name removed; security and audit logs, permanently; and other people's data, such as a Technician's record of a job they completed. Your account cannot be recovered, there is no grace period and no undo. We will not finalize deletion while you have a booking in progress, an open dispute, or an unsettled balance; we will tell you if any applies.

7.2 Signing Up Again With the Same Email or Phone

You can create a new account later with the same email or phone, but it will be a completely new account, not your old one restored, with no ratings, history, saved payment methods, or registered devices carried over. Phone numbers and email addresses change hands, and treating a reused address as a returning customer would hand a stranger someone else's history.

7.3 Data Download Request

Request a copy of the personal data we hold by emailing support@fix2me.app with the subject "Data Download Request." We respond within 30 days in a portable format.

7.4 Your Privacy Rights

We give these rights to everyone who uses Fix2Me, not only to residents of a particular state. Fix2Me is a Georgia company and, at our current size, is not covered by California's or Georgia's privacy laws; we follow the California standard anyway.

RightWhat it means
Access / KnowAsk what personal information we hold, where it came from, and what we use it for
DeleteAsk us to erase your personal information (exceptions: tax records and the permanent security log)
CorrectAsk us to fix inaccurate information; most fields you can edit yourself
PortabilityGet a machine-readable copy you can take elsewhere
Opt out of sale/sharingNothing to opt out of: Fix2Me does not sell or share personal information at all
Limit use of sensitive informationWe already use it only for identity verification and tax compliance
Non-discriminationWe will not degrade your service, change your price, or treat you differently

To exercise any of these, email privacy@fix2me.app and say which right. We verify the request is from you, then respond within 45 days. If we can only partly grant a request, we tell you specifically what we deleted, what we kept, and why.

8. Cookies and Tracking

The Fix2Me website uses essential cookies (login, session, security — required to function), analytics cookies (aggregated, anonymized — can be disabled), and marketing cookies (advertising conversions — can be disabled). Manage preferences through the cookie banner on your first visit or in your browser settings. The mobile app does not use browser cookies; it uses device-level identifiers stored securely in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore for authentication only, never for advertising.

9. Data Security

All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or higher, and all data at rest is encrypted. Authentication uses JWT tokens with device-bound asymmetric signing (ECDSA) held in hardware-backed secure storage (iOS Secure Enclave, Android Keystore). Sensitive personal information, including your SSN, is stored encrypted, with the SSN held under a separate encryption key; Fix2Me never stores raw bank account numbers (handled by Stripe) or images of your ID document. Access to personal data is restricted to personnel who need it, all admin actions are written to an immutable audit log, and we monitor for suspicious access. No security system is perfect; in the event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

10. Children's Privacy

Fix2Me does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. The Platform is intended exclusively for users 18 or older. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact support@fix2me.app and we will promptly close it and destroy the associated information. We direct no content or marketing at children under 13 and comply with COPPA.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites; please review their own policies. Fix2Me is not responsible for their practices.

12. Identity Verification

Fix2Me uses Stripe Identity, a third-party identity-verification service, for certain bookings. When triggered, you may be asked to photograph a government-issued ID; Stripe Identity processes and verifies it on our behalf. Fix2Me receives only the verification status, the extracted name and date of birth (for age confirmation), and the document type and issuing country. Fix2Me does not store raw photographs of your ID or full document numbers. Fix2Me retains verification status and extracted fields for the duration of your account plus 2 years. See Stripe's Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we provide at least 30 days' advance notice by email and in-app notification. For non-material changes, we update the "Last updated" date above and the changes take effect on posting. Your continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
